101 Things Accomplishments

I was looking at some other peoples' lists online yesterday in an attempt to get some ideas for Jerry's list and I came across this one: Keep a photodiary of my 101 in 1001. I am so upset that I didn't find that one when I was creating mine. I think that would have been a really neat way to keep track of this on my blog and even possibly put it into a book one day. Oh well, Jerry will do it for his, and maybe I will do it the next time I make a list.

I have been able to cross a few things off my list and I have made progress on a few others:

32. Give blood.

I have always thought about doing this, but I had never done it, so when I found out that we were having a blood drive at my office, I signed up. I got really nervous right before I had to go do it, but as it turns out....it's not so bad! I think I will definitely do it again sometime. I didn't have any problems at all. I was pretty disappointed that I didn't get one of those "Be nice to me. I gave blood." stickers, but since they don't do that anymore, the guy felt bad for me and found me a Christmas ornament! A little weird, but it was nice of him.

58. Organize the church kitchen.

A couple of weeks ago, Brody, Jerry, and I cooked dinner for some homeless people that were staying at our church building. It was a lot of fun, but while we were there cooking, we realized that the church kitchen was in desperate need of some organization/cleaning. So we talked to Jeff and asked him if we could volunteer to organize it and make it a little easier to work in. I will admit that when we first got there, I was a little overwhelmed by the level of disarray, but once we got into it, it was actually really fun. We went on Tuesday night, because that is the night the band rehearses at the church building, and that way we wouldn't be there alone. It was nice to have some background music while we worked even if it was a little Josh Grobanesque. :) The weirdest thing was that we finished at the exact same time as they did. We have to go back to label the cabinets and do a couple of other little things, but I think we accomplished enough to cross it off the list.

34. Inspire at least one other person to make a "101 things" list.

Sonja finished her list on Tuesday as well. She is going to be posting them on her blog soon. Jer is also making a list. I think he is about halfway done with his, so I will post a link when he gets his done.
I have also tried a couple of new restaurants. I haven't found a new ElRod or anything, but they weren't bad. And one new beer: Big Boss Bad Penny. Big Boss is a small brewery here in Raleigh, and I really enjoyed that beer.
That is all for now. I will post more updates as I cross them off.
